Nethogs - yet another top like utility!

On my little quest to find more top like utilities, I've now found a simple network measuring tool called nethogs. It displays network usage per process rather per protocol, so one can easily identify which program is sucking away your network bandwidth.

above, nethogs showing wget, firefox, xchat-gnome and Skype using wlan0

To install, use:

apt-get install nethogs

To use, run with sudo and specify the network device you want to monitor. For example, to monitor your wifi usage:

sudo nethogs wlan0

To quit the program, simple press the 'q' key.
